Home again

I was released from hospital last week.  Am taking it easy at home, still trying to persuade my left hand to help with typing.  It's coming around—slowly!  Thanks for all the best wishes.

  1. That’s great news! Perhaps you need another trip to the octogram. They’ll have you out-dueling that typewriter in no time!

  2. I got out Death on Nnanji again last night. My intent was to look at one certain scene again, and ended up reading it all. Still grabs me.

So glad I have at least three more of yours still ahead of me, but plz-plz-plz keep writing!

  3. Met Don Maitz a couple weekends ago while I was a science guest at Philcon in Cherry Hill, NJ. My wife (book dealer) and I had several conversations with him and his author/artist wife (Janny Wurtz).

Have you heard the stories behind his covers for your Magic Casement series? They are hysterical!

  4. I’ve obviously been out of the loop. Went back and read the story about your stroke and was horrified. Yes, I know it happens to lots of people, but I don’t want it to happen to people whose work I admire!

I hope you continue to recover well. Take care!

  5. Wishing you a very speedy and full recovery!

I just bought myself Death of Nnanji as an early Christmas present, and when asked by family members what I wanted I told them “Ironfoot!”, so I should be starting off the new year with some great reading material.

All the best, and a merry Christmas to you and yours.

    1. Nnanji is so good; especially after so long you wonder how easy it’ll be to slip back into the world. But boy, you do. Amazon have omnibus editions now, which make excellent fodder for gift vouchers if you can persuade famly!

a happy christmas to all of you wonderful people, and of course a *huge* thanks to you, Dave, for your wonderful works.

      1. I wondered how well I’d be able to recapture Wally, Nnanji, and all, but yes, it worked! Next February you’ll be able to see if I managed as well recapturing Durendal, King Ambrose, and the Blades in “One Velvet Glove”.

        Thanks for the good wishes.

        1. + One Velvet Glove is showing on Amazon UK with a release date of 30 Nov 2017. The publisher once again seem to have jumped the gun (didn’t this happen with Eocene Station)? Not that I’m complaining, of course!
+ paperback of Enchanter General #2 is Oct18, no Kindle available for preorder yet.
+ the Man of His Word omnibus is selling at £2.05 today. Absolute bargain!

  6. One Velvet Glove is also available on Amazon Canada for Kindle, but the paperback doesn’t show as available until February 2018. Kindle it is!

Bought it, read it, loved it, reviewed it. Sorry for gushing. All the best, Dave!
